Dear Friends – Welcome to my EVEREST blog!
— > Go directly to my EVEREST CLIMB+CHARITY VIDEO
In April/May 2013 I completed the challenge to climb the World’s highest mountain, Mount Everest (8,848m), summiting at 6.15am on May 21. The following morning, May 22, I also climbed Lhotse, 8,516m and the World’s4th highest peak, becoming the first Swede to do the Everest-Lhotse back-to-back double ascent.
In parallel with my climbing challenge – and continuing after the expedition – I’m also fundraising for a charity called dZi Foundation to raise at least USD27,000 in order to build a school in a remote and poor village in Nepal, to enable disadvantaged children to receive an education.
On this website, I give a background to my quest, my preparation, the dZi Foundation charity, and the Deep Jyoti school project, as well as updates from the expedition and charity project.
I hope you can be part of helping underprivileged children in Nepal to receive an education – by making a generous donation to this charity fundraising.
I’m hopeful that we will significantly EXCEED the $27,000 fundraising target for the Deep Jyoti School – the dZi Foundation does fantastic work, and there are so many other projects they could undertake with additional funds.
Happy reading!
Thomas

Ps. I describe the charity donation procedure on the “DONATIONS“ page.
NOTE: To be clear – All of the funds donated via the dZi Foundation or through the JustGiving page are going 100% to the charity – none goes to finance my climbing expedition. In addition to my expedition costs, I have also personally made a donation of GBP5,000 (~ USD7,800) to the charity project.
