Blessing from Tibetan Lama in Pangboche…

… who also gave us a signed card to show Chomolungma (Everest in Sherpa/Tibetan language), to request permission to summit (with the Lama’s blessing)

Now I should be ready for the Big Mountain…!

Beautiful day in the Khumbu

Nice view of Amadablam and Lhotse, in Kyangjuma, heading towards Tengboche monastery and then Pangboche where we will spend the night…

It’s even more beautiful here springtime compared to December…

Now the blog should be more interactive…

… I think I finally figured out how to get the commenting function functional again in WordPress… Click on “Leave a reply” to comment on different posts.

Tomorrow morning we are leaving Namche Bazar and continuing the trek up towards EBC.

dZi Foundation UK registration update

Great news! The dZi Foundation has been approved as a UK registered charity. The UK Virgin Giving page will be set up soon. We will keep you posted. UK donors who already know that they plan to donate can email Jim@dzifoundation.org to register and then get a notification when the site is up. (Do not donate via the dZi (US) site, as this will not provide Gift Aid (+25% tax benefits) for dZi.

Greetings from Phakding, where we are now starting day 2 of the trek to our new home: EBC

Safely arrived in Lukla, starting the trek to our new home: EBC

We survived the somewhat scary flight to Lukla 2,850m. Pic of airstrip attached… Not sure if landing or taking off is worse! Now starting our 10 day trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) – our new home for at least 6 weeks!

Sherpa blessing from my friend Gelu Sherpa

Met up with my friends Gelu Sherpa and Pemba Sherpa last night for dinner, who were the trip leaders when we trekked to Everest Base Camp in December lat year

Gelu gave me this Kata – a good luck blessing for the expedition.
