No proper internet connection in EBC means I have to endure tough weather whilst updating my blog from the “3G rock” halfway between EBC and nearest village Gorak Shep…!

Fixing the crampon straps… Making sure all equipment is 100% functional and optimal for the mountain!

We are strategically located close to the Khumbu Ice Fall…

Now enjoying a few rest days before we start our acclimatization program higher up the mountain…

… who also gave us a signed card to show Chomolungma (Everest in Sherpa/Tibetan language), to request permission to summit (with the Lama’s blessing)

Now I should be ready for the Big Mountain…!

Greetings from Phakding, where we are now starting day 2 of the trek to our new home: EBC

We survived the somewhat scary flight to Lukla 2,850m. Pic of airstrip attached… Not sure if landing or taking off is worse! Now starting our 10 day trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) – our new home for at least 6 weeks!

… Seems the feature for people to comment on my postings has been disabled – will see if I can fix that soon, whilst we’re on the trek, to make it a bit more interactive forum…

Met up with my friends Gelu Sherpa and Pemba Sherpa last night for dinner, who were the trip leaders when we trekked to Everest Base Camp in December lat year

Gelu gave me this Kata – a good luck blessing for the expedition.
